Snow tubing parks with night tubing
100 of the 229 parks we track keep tubing lanes open after dark, turning an afternoon errand into an evening plan and easing the midday crowd at popular hills.
What qualifies: Parks whose official information lists evening or night tubing sessions under lights.
Once the lights come on, a tubing hill turns into a different kind of outing: shorter lines after the school-day crowd clears out, and a run that feels faster in the dark. Of the 229 parks we track, 100 list evening or night sessions, spread across 34 states from Alaska to Texas.
How to use this list
Night tubing isn’t automatically colder or scarier than daytime tubing, but the practical details shift. Check three things before you go: whether the park requires a reservation for the evening slot (many of the bigger resorts do), what the last session start time is, and how the park lights the lanes (some run only a portion of their hill after dark). If you’re bringing young children, confirm the venue’s own minimum age or height for night sessions specifically, since some parks tighten the rules once visibility drops.
Layer for temperatures 10-15 degrees colder than the daytime forecast, and budget extra time for parking once you get past a lit-up base area. For general cold-weather prep, see the snow tubing safety guide and what to wear snow tubing.
Standouts
- Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, PA runs 46 lanes, the most of any park we track, with night tubing and snowmaking so the hill stays open even through midweek thaws.
- Hawksnest Snow Tubing in Seven Devils, NC pairs 30 lanes with night sessions and a minimum age of just 3, a rare combination for a park this size.
- Wintergreen Resort - The Plunge in Wintergreen, VA lists 10 lanes and night tubing, with hours until 8:45 PM Thursday through Saturday.
- Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area in Maple Grove, MN keeps its starting price at $15, one of the more affordable night-tubing options with 13 lanes and snowmaking.
- Arctic Valley Ski Area in Anchorage, AK runs four to five 90-minute sessions Thursday through Sunday, including evening slots, and requires a reservation.
Compare against parks with cheap snow tubing or the biggest tubing parks if lane count matters more to your group than the hour of day.

Frequently asked questions
Is night tubing colder than daytime tubing?
Yes. Once the sun goes down, temperatures at ski-area elevations drop quickly, and wind on an open tubing lane makes it feel colder still. Dress in the same layers you'd wear for daytime tubing, plus an extra insulating layer, and bring hand and toe warmers.
Do night sessions cost more than day sessions?
It varies by park and isn't broken out separately in what most parks publish. Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, PA and Hawksnest Snow Tubing in Seven Devils, NC both run night sessions alongside day sessions; check each park's own pricing page for the current rate by time slot.
Do I still need a reservation for a night session?
Often yes. Several of the biggest night-tubing parks, including Hawksnest Snow Tubing and Blue Mountain Resort, require reservations for any session, day or night. Others, like Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area, don't. Check the specific park's policy before you drive over.
